Mr Brennen Page 5th Dan
I started my journey into martial arts in 1990 aged 7 years, 28 years later and there has been no looking back. Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art, the name translates very literally too “Foot, hand, way of life and art” and combines combat and self-defence techniques with sport and exercise with a heavy emphasis on the 5 tenants; courtesy, integrity, self control, perseverance and indomitable spirit.
Tae Kwon Do has been the backbone to my life, guiding me throughout school and beyond and is very much a part of who I am today.
Under the guidance of our truly inspirational instructor Jon Stockwell of Hereford Tae Kwon Do – the foremost TKD club in Hereford, I gained my black belt at the age of 11, along with my father (Brian Page 2nd dan) my mother (Tina Page) and my sister (Syanna Page). We were the first family to train and gain their black belts together, all taking our grading under Grandmaster He Il Cho 9th degree black belt and head of AIMMA Tae Kwon Do. Along the way we all competed regularly in national competitions such as the British, Welsh and English Championships, winning numerous medals in both patterns and sparring divisions.
My Father went on to run the Hereford club and later acquired a club in Abergavenny, which is where I hones my skills as an assisstant instructor, our clubs went from strength to strength and our teaching style was established.
In 2009 Page Family Tae Kwon Do was formed and I became the senior instructor of bothe the Hereford and Abergavenny Tae Kwon Do Clubs, having decided that my passion lay with teaching others through my own experiences.
I have very high standards for my own training and expect no less from my students. In 2014 I graded and attained my 5th Dan, an achievment of which I am very proud.
Most people can benefit from training in Tae Kwon Do, there are many reasons to take up a martial art, to increase confidence, learn self defence, lose wight, get fitter etc. The reason is personal to the individual, but what ever the reason I guarantee that with my knowledge, experience, and that of my senior instructors, along with your commitement to training I can help my students achieve their goals..
